MaKayla grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and attended Morningside College. In 2017, she moved to Des Moines to pursue a law degree at Drake University. Soon after joining Spaulding & Shaull as a law clerk in early 2019, MaKayla knew this type of law suited her passions and interests.

MaKayla focuses her practice on workers’ compensation, personal injury, bad faith, and employment matters including discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation. MaKayla is dedicated to fighting for her clients with integrity, using her voice to ensure her clients are heard, and achieving the best possible outcomes on their behalf.

Since 2017, MaKayla has made Des Moines her home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her better half and family, golfing, exercising and traveling.
